COVID - Telephone contact - Due to the reduced access to practice sites telephone contacts have increased and we are experiencing periods of high volumes of calls. Staff are monitoring waiting times for calls throughout the day and reporting issues where there are excessive wait times and we continuing to work to reduce waiting where possible. Important notice - Appointments - Please do cancel your appointment if it is not convenient or it is no longer needed. In 1 week alone, between 27th September and 3rd October 2021, over 16 hours of Nursing, GP, HCA, Physio and Phlebotomist appointments were lost which could have been used by other patients. Thank you for your assistance with reducing instances of wasted appointments.

Patient notice - Changes to Telephone System

 In line with our previous communications, Sherwood Medical Partnership will be going live with our new telephone system during the day on 10.09.2021. Please bear with us whilst we transition to the new system which we hope will bring benefits to our patient population including a new Queuebuster service. All incoming and outgoing calls will be recorded for training and monitoring purposes. Thank you for your patience.

Statement from NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG:
As a patient of Farnsfield Surgery, you do not need to take any action. Once a new provider has been identified in the New Year, we will let you know of changes at your surgery.  In the meantime, please continue to contact the surgery if you have a health concern or symptoms you are worried about. Statement regarding future services at Farnsfield Surgery

Attending Appointments

If you attend the surgery for an appointment, please do not go to reception to book in. Please stay in your car/outside and we will contact you on your mobile phone when it's your turn. If you are waiting 20 minutes beyond your appointment time, please let reception know. This is to reduce congestion at the front door to protect our patients and staff. Thank you for your cooperation.

We encourage patients to consider options for self-care first where possible, seeking advice from their pharmacist or 111 where appropriate and to be open to seeing other healthcare providers within the practice team and wider healthcare support teams too when offered.

We are continuing to make changes and improvements to our appointments system to help with demand.

Important Information regarding our Prescription Service

In November 2019, Sherwood Medical Partnership made changes to our prescription process. We ceased to take prescription requests via telephone and answerphone message.

The practice continues to process prescription requests via

  • System Online
  • Patient drop in prescription box at both sites
  • Pharmacy requests

Any vulnerable patients who are concerned regarding the process for requesting their medication in future are encouraged to contact the practice to discuss available options.
